LJ Reviews 2019 January #1

In this latest series installment, science writer Jackson (other titles in the "Ponderables" series; Space Atlas) tackles questions of thought, personality, and the mind. Arranged roughly chronologically, the subjects move from Hippocrates's basic humors to current thoughts on gender dysphoria. Several "imponderable" questions, concise biographies of 39 notable psychologists, and resources (including museums and apps) add interest. The striking photographs and layouts will attract teens and adults alike. VERDICT An absorbing overview of the human mind and how we think, for most public libraries.
