Employing dramatic recreations and inteviews with expert musicians and musicologists, the film portrays Saint-Georges' rise to become one of France's most popular heroes, and his tragic fall from history. Le Mozart Noir employs the music of Saint-Georges, as interpreted by Jeanne Lamon and the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, as a window into the spirit of this remarkable historical figure.
