Cactus should have had the success that Led Zeppelin had and its a tragedy that there career was so blighted. This line up only lasted for three albums, but what albums they were! Each, is worth checking out, but if i had to choose it would be this one. Everything about it is pure class from the opener 'Partchment farm' with killer guitar from the supremely underatted Jim McCarty (ask Ted Nugent) and Rusty Day's (one of the greatest vocalist ever)great harmonica and vocal work to Carmine Appice's great drum solo(short and sweet like drum solos should be) on 'feels so good'. Theres the great heads down boogie on 'let me swim' and a great bluesy 'no need to worry' and some nice acoustic and vocal assides on 'bro'Bill'. Not a track is wasted and even Tim Bogart doesn't play too fussy as he did with Jeff Beck(and the reason McCarty left apparently) What i'm hoping is that Atlantic will finally release the live album this line up made, until then fans of early seventies heavy blues/rock should check it out.
