Though billed as a solo album, Keef surrounded himself with a crack group of musicians, without whom the record would be impossible. Whereas Keef's previous albums had been getting progressively jazzier/funkier in tone, this seems to be a step back to his roots, with more of an emphasis on blues. There are still the jazzy arrangements, complete with horns and for the first and last time on a Hartley album, strings, which add layers to the raw blues sound.
