I couldn't help wondering what Baldry's crooning and "cut glass" accent had to do with singing the blues. However a duet with Rod Stewart (Baldry on 12 string acoustic and Stewart on banjo) demonstrates his wonderful voice and "Hambone" has a fantastic vocal that could have come out of Chicago. He was up there with Alexis Corner and John Mayall in forming bands from the emerging British blues greats and this album, along with it's predecessor (It ain't easy) are reminders that we had a really good talent of our own who really cut the mustard in the "can white men sing the blues" debates. This album enlists some of those who found their voice in his previous bands and went onto greater success. John Baldry never made it really big but he was good, and it's really nice that this album can still be obtained to remind some of us of that fact.Amazon-Kunde 1. Come Back Again (Intro) 2.
