Iron Butterfly followed up their multi-million selling In A Gadda Da Vida with this, their third studio album, and it's a stronger overall listen than that earlier work. Doug Ingle's mike-friendly baritone intermingles nicely with Lee Dorman's excellent heavy basslines to make an interesting and satisfying listen.

Here the Butterfly get to dabble with different sounds: (almost) heavy metal on the opener In The Time Of Our Lives, pseudo soul on Lonely Boy, prog rock on Soul Experience and a completely different direction on Belda Beast, a song that defies pigeonholing. Her Favourite Style is more straight foward rock and It Must Be Love remains a hard-driving drummer's paradise. The remaster throws in both A and B sides of the US 45 To Be Alone / I Can't Help But Deceive You (Little Girl), a rarity indeed. If you like late 60's heavy/pysch you'll love this.
