The two albums combined here date from around 1973. The live set recorded in Stockholm to a respectful audience. For Earth Below was recorded in LA and represents a much cleaner, slicker sound. I'm not sure the live set features his best work, but for pure honesty there is no better rock guitarist and this set exemplifies this. There are no tricks or overdubs and the straight white noise sound is exactly as you'd hear them live. "Rock me baby" is one long, loud blistering guitar solo delivered with the power of an Olympus jet engine, showcasing Trower's undiluted technical nouse. For Earth Below however is a different piece, a quieter, more considered work, combining the cool West coast sound with Trower's teechnical brilliance. The former Procul Harum guitarist is a gifted songwriter and suffers from his place in history amidst the much maligned rock dinosaurs.Amazon-Kunde
