This early CDB album is a bit more hillbilly than later Southern Rock CDB releases. It mixes simple, countrified lyrics with a mixture of Country, Blues and that 60s sound leftover from the prior decade. "Great Big Bunches Of Love", "In The City", "Drinkin' Wine Spodee Odee", "Black Autumn", "Tomorrow's Gonna' Be Another Day" and "I'll Try Again Tomorrow" catch this embryonic band sounding good and in some cases (Spodee Odee for example) just having fun. As the title suggests, this is a band effort, rather than a Daniels' solo project. Mainstay keyboardist Taz DiGregorio belts out some vocal leads and does some nice organ work. It's a very good album, but a bit different than the rest of Charlie's recorded legacy. I guess it's not a stretch to compare it with Fire On The Mountain. but that album found the band's sound a little more refined. R. Krieger
