[...] On a couple of these tracks Victors vocals sound a little strained and under par for such a superb vocalist. Perhaps the result of the bands' extensive touring. There is some superb guitar work from John Morshead on these tracks, with the slow blues 'Downhearted' perhaps being the best overall performance from the original album.

For me, however, the album is well worth buying if you can get the version with the two bonus tracks 'Warning and 'Cobwebs' for a reasonable price.

These two tracks were recorded as a single for the Blue Horizon record company at the start of their career, before the band changed their bass guitarist and their record label.

As far as l know Warning has only been available in cd format on a 3 disc Blue Horizon compilation until now. This song is a blues rock classic, later covered by Black Sabbath.

Cobwebs, which l have never seen available on cd anywhere else, is possibly ADR's best slow blues with superb controlled vocals and atmospheric organ from Victor Brox, with fantastically sympathetic guitar work from John Morshead, which builds beautifully in the guitar solo break.

If you want the Retaliations best overall album my own choice would be Dr Dunbar's Prescription, but l rate the two tracks Warning and Cobwebs to be their best work ever, and also beautifully contrasting tracks. Amazon-Kunde
