The legendary tales about Lam-ang are popular in the Ilocos region. The oldest written story in verse is said to have been written by the blind poet Pedro Bukaneg, who lived in the late 16th century. The following story tells of how Lam-ang wins the love of Ines Kannoyan.

Kilala sa Ilocos ang pambihirang kuwento ni Lam-ang. Sinasabing isinulat ang kuwentong ito ng bulag na makatang Pedro Bukaneg, na nabuhay sa huling bahagi ng ika-16 siglo. Sa librong ito sinasabi kung paano nakamit ni Lam-ang ang pag-ibig ni Ines Kannoyan.
