1915’te Osmanli Imparatorlugu’nda Ermeniler ile Türkler arasinda ne oldugunu konusurken, ilk olarak bu suçlamalara ve onlarin sonuçlarina dair gerçekleri kabul etmemiz gerekir. Aradan yüz yil geçtikten sonra, bugün, Ermeniler ve Türkler, olanlara dair birbirinden tamamen farkli iki anlatiya inaniyorlar. Evet, “inaniyorlar”. Mesele inanç meselesi degil ama, bu birbiriyle çatisan anlatilarin barindirdigi güç göz önünde bulundurulursa, pekâlâ olabilir de.

 

Peki, gerçekten ne olmustu? Size anlatayim, ama ben Ermeni’yim. Bu tarihten söz etmek benim için neredeyse imkânsiz. Bu konuda konusmak bana aci verdigi için degil, konunun tartisildigi çerçeve, benim için tatminkâr bir seçenek birakmamis oldugu için… Hikâyenin Ermeni versiyonunu anlatmak tüm sezgilerime aykiri. Bunun nedeni hikâyeyi dogru bulmamam degil, ki dogru buluyorum, ama biliyorum ki, ele alinan meselenin soykirim tanimina uymadigina inanmak isteyecek olsam bile, bu inanca giden yolu bulmam mümkün olmazdi.
