Taner Akyol (b.1977 Bursa) is a Turkish saz (musical instrument) or baglama player and classical composer. He studied in Germany at the Brandenburgischen Colloquium für Neue Musik and the Hans Eisler Music Academy. In 2003 he founded the Taner Akyol Trio with Anthonis Anissegos and David Kuckhermann. Maria Farantouri sings in Greek translation poems of the persecution suffered by the Kurdish people. Maria Farantouri (sometimes spelt Maria Farandouri) (Greek: ????? ??????????) was born in Athens on 28 November 1947.[1] She is a Greek singer and also a political and cultural activist. She has collaborated with prominent Greek composers such as Mikis Theodorakis, who wrote the score for Pablo Neruda's Canto General, which Farantouri performed.
