If you need to start with Ed Askew then get hold of his 1st album before you get this one. Sometimes known as Ask the Unicorn it has a lot of Ed's finest songs and performances on it. This 2nd album was recorded in 1970 but not released until a few years ago. The songs are maybe just a notch down from the 1st album and the recording quality isn't quite so good. BUT - ANY Ed Askew is good and there is so precious little of it to go round so this is almost like a holy relic as far as I am concerned. Ed still writes and records in NYC and has a myspace area where you can hear a lot of his new songs. Highly recommended for fans of late 60s/ early 70s psychedelic /outsider acid-folk. Amazon-Kunde
