For some strange reason this band is virtually unknown in the States and after hearing this I still have no idea why. The songs are solid, the riffs are great and it's just an overall great rock record. They were on a hot streak through the 70's and this is a fine example of just how true that is. As the years went on by, lead singer/guitarist Myles Goodwyn would completely take control of the band but at this juncture he was sharing control with guitarist David Henman and new bassist/vocalist Jim Clench. Their contributions are actually quite strong. Henman's "Drop Your Guns" and "Refuge" are solid songs and it was a shame that they are almost forgotten today. Ironically, the biggest hit from this album was actually a cover; "You Could Have Been a Lady" which the band turned into a guitar-driven rocker that is still in the setlists today. I have yet to hear the debut album but I can tell that this was ultimately another step forward for the band who would ultimately achieve it's signature sound within the next three years.
