In 1971, Larry Ray and Bill Szymczyk left California hoping to start their own label. They set up shop in Denver, Colorado, and Tumbleweed Records was born. Somehow, they managed to blag their way into a financing and distribution deal with Gulf + Western and would go on to release a handful of albums between 1971-73. It was a partnership doomed from the start. Ray and Szymczyk put art before commerce and Gulf + Western had no idea what to do with the product. These ten-tracks present highlights from the Tumbleweed catalogue and are in the main, products of their era; well crafted country-rock.
