Inhalt

Dark Habits: After her lover dies of a drug overdose, nightclub singer Yolanda flees to a convent run by a group of eccentric and unconventional nuns. Each nun harbors her own hidden vices, including drug addiction, erotic fantasies, and an obsession with suffering. As Yolanda tries to adjust to her bizarre new surroundings, she becomes both an object of fascination and a catalyst for chaos. The film satirizes religious hypocrisy, repression, and the blurred line between sin and salvation in Almodóvar’s signature mix of dark comedy and melodrama.

What Have I Done to Deserve This?!: Gloria, a struggling housewife in Madrid, is suffocating under the weight of her dysfunctional family. She endures a lazy, abusive husband, a drug-dealing mother-in-law, and two sons—one of whom is involved in prostitution while the other has mysterious telekinetic powers. Desperate and pushed to her limits, she finds herself entangled in a series of surreal and tragicomic events that culminate in an unexpected act of violence. A biting social critique wrapped in dark humor, the film explores themes of economic hardship, gender roles, and the absurdity of everyday life.

The Law of Desire: Filmmaker Pablo Quintero is caught in a dangerous love triangle between his longtime lover Juan and the obsessive and unstable Antonio. As Pablo struggles with his complicated romantic entanglements, his transgender sister Tina wrestles with her own painful past. What begins as a passionate affair spirals into jealousy, violence, and emotional devastation. Through themes of unrestrained desire, possessiveness, and self-identity, Almodóvar crafts a provocative story that challenges conventions of love, gender, and power.

Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown: Pepa, a voice actress, is abandoned by her lover Iván without explanation. Determined to find out why, she embarks on a frantic search that leads her into a whirlwind of absurd encounters. Along the way, she crosses paths with Iván’s timid new girlfriend, a friend who unknowingly shelters a terrorist, and a neurotic lawyer caught in her own romantic troubles. As tensions rise, her apartment becomes the chaotic epicenter of heartbreak, miscommunication, and hilarious misunderstandings. A brilliantly paced screwball comedy about love, desperation, and the resilience of women in crisis.

Kika: Kika, a cheerful and optimistic makeup artist, finds herself caught in a web of bizarre, tragic, and sometimes disturbing events. She becomes romantically involved with an American writer haunted by his past, is targeted by an escaped convict, and is constantly pursued by an unscrupulous TV journalist who exploits real-life tragedies for entertainment. With bold satire on media sensationalism, voyeurism, and violence, the film combines outrageous humor with biting social commentary, making it one of Almodóvar’s most controversial works.

The Flower of My Secret: Leo Macías, a best-selling romance novelist, writes passionate love stories under a pseudonym, yet her own life is far from romantic. Trapped in a failing marriage with a cold and distant husband, she battles depression and creative exhaustion. As she begins to lose herself, she faces the painful realization that she must reinvent her life, both personally and professionally. A deeply introspective drama that explores themes of loneliness, artistic frustration, and the contrast between fantasy and reality, marking a shift in Almodóvar’s storytelling toward more mature, emotional depth.
