Mick Abrahams will always be remembered as an original member of Jethro Tull and for his contribution on their first album "This Was". After leaving Tull he formed the brilliant Blodwyn Pig, with Andy Pyle on bass, Ron Berg on drums and Jack Lancaster on horns/violin, with whom he made two excellent albums "Ahead Rings Out" and "Getting to This". Even the nonalbum singles and outtakes are top. Thereafter he performed under his own monniker with 3 other musicians and his first album in this setting is also great, with the final (15 min.) song "Seasons" as his magnumopus. This sounds very much als Blodwyn Pig, mark II. For the second album he went on with the same musicians, with the addition of forementioned Lancaster on horns, but this time the music is far less Blodwyn Pig, as supposed, and not for the better alas, to my opinion at last. Sometimes it is more tended towards band as Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears or Rare Earth. With this album Abrahams concluded his musical career for a while, before reuniting with all kind of musicians as Blodwyn Pig again, or the Mick Abrahams Band or performing as a solo-artist. Not bad but not as good as the 3 earlier releases.
