Inhalt

This CD rounds up the Troggs 3rd and 4th UK albums from 1967/68. "Cellophane" is undoubtedly the stronger of the two (surely, it must win a prize for the strangest album title), but, despite the uninspiring name, "Mixed Bag" is better than one might expect.
By the time these albums were originally released,The Troggs popularity had somewhat waned, but by this point their records were still generally of a very high standard. As with their previous two albums, The Troggs embraced a wide variety of styles, from the pure pop of "Hip Hip Hooray", the slower ballad-type songs (I have to admit, these I am not a big lover of) to the out-and-out grungy rockers that they do best (in my humble opinion). The psychedelic influence is also quite evident on songs like "Purple Shades" and "Maybe The Madman", which, although I'm not sure if these are serious or tongue in cheek, are still fine examples of the genre.
