Mike Heron, as all true music aficionados will know, was co-founder with Robin Williamson of the Incredible String Band, one of the most innovative bands ever to grace the global pop/folk/rock/psychedelic scene. After the String Band called it a day in 1974, Mike toured with two new bands, Mike Heron's Reputation and Heron. The Glen Row tapes are what Mike did next, recorded in the years 1977-78. Freed from the necessity to write for a specific band line-up, with a recording studio next-door and a willing group of musical friends to call upon, Mike was able to craft each tune exactly as he wanted it. The result is this wonderful collection, previously available only on rare cassettes and singles or limited edition CDs, now gathered together, lovingly remastered and sounding as fresh as the day they were recorded.
