The "Nanny Diaries" have been absolutely enjoyable and most amusing reading for me, as they quite sharply put their finger on a good number of absurdities in upper east side life. The density of events may be exaggerated, the situations as such are probably not. A mild caricature maybe, but unfortunately with a lot of truth in it. The language used is pleasantly refreshing, reflecting the mindset of a rather articulate/eloquent college senior with a remarkably educated background. This book is highly entertaining reading for all who have ever dealt with wealthy young upper east side families and a valuable warning to all who consider applying to work as a nanny there.
