2-CD set amounts to the first live overview of this legendary band ever to be released, as it consists of 1967-1970 concert recordings taken from live shows, television and radio appearances covering both the Nice's quartet and trio phases. The first disc ("The Quartet") features their biggest hit, a radical reinvention of Bernstein's 'America', plus never-recorded covers of the Byrds' 'Get to You' and Frank Zappa's 'Lumpy Gravy' and the band's own audacious 'Flower King of Flies'. The second disc, "The Trio," sees Keith Emerson move to the forefront of the band, unleashing such proto-ELP pieces as 'Intermezzo Karelia Suite' and 'Pathetique', along with daring covers of Tim Hardin's 'Hang On to a Dream', Dave Brubeck's 'Rondo' and Sonny Rollins' 'St. Thomas' (with special guest Roy Harper).
