This was John's third album, and an interesting one it is. It's usually rated lower than his first two, but I enjoy it more. The covers (including one of My Wife) hint John was short of material here, but they are well chosen and performed thoughtfully. The sound is an improvement over the previous two releases, particularly Whistle Rymes. Best of all, there is a fun bass solo. Rock and roll might not have run out of time, but you'll realize how painfully soon John did, after you listen to this. Michael Stout
