with one of the best ,most inventive and immediately identifiable guitarists of the era on duty as lead, this band is finally receiving its due and garnering some credit and praise! Cactus gets more points with the critics but One Way or Another is as good if not better, thanks to the supreme talents of Eddie Kramer!!! I could do without [most of] Carmine and Tim's 'harmonies' but its not a big price to pay and only a [VERY] small grouch!Some of the stereo effects [remember them?] are still excellent even after 40 years and while some of Jim's lead breaks have been done with doubletracking, this doesn't detract from his tone, dexterity etc.etc.He is one guitarist I would really like to see in person! Also available and worth checking out are the recently released Live albums too! the addition of Ron Leejack really gave the band an extra dimension and listening to two lead slide guitars is not an everyday occurence.
